Hi! I’m Rebecca, the owner and artist behind Rebecca Straub Art. I’m so glad you’ve stopped by! My goal is to connect with you and share my story, while hopefully inspiring you to see your own story reflected in my art, whether through one of my existing pieces or a custom commission made just for you. I’d love to hear what brought you here and how I can be part of your creative journey. My hope is that you will join me on this journey as we seek to honor the past, present, and future through art, reflection, and connection.

The artist behind the scenes…

Throughout my life, I’ve been fortunate to call many places “home,” each one bringing enduring friendships and unforgettable memories. When I think of “home,” I envision a tapestry or rug, woven with vibrant colors and diverse textures. Every place I’ve lived has contributed a new design element to the bigger picture, forming a rich, intricate composition that reflects the complexity and beauty of our journey on this earth. My passion is to create artwork that captures this idea, with each piece telling its own unique story and inviting others to enjoy the journey within it.

I am a nomad.

As an architecture student, I developed a deep fascination with the complexity of buildings, their intricate details, and design elements. This passion grew as I transitioned into interior design, where I realized just how deeply our surroundings influence our lives—positively or negatively. Later my journey took a transformative turn when I had the privilege of living in overseas, where I immersed myself in the richness of its culture and found inspiration in every new experience. Together, these experiences have shown me the immense value of living life as a continual learner.

I am a learner.

I find joy in capturing moments and preserving them as precious treasures. Whether it’s collecting coffee mugs or keepsakes from my travels, I’ve created a curated collection of memories, each with its own unique story. My journey as an artist is deeply influenced by these experiences, as they shape the way I express and translate the world around me through my work.

I am a collector.

My deep love for art and the creative process has been profoundly shaped by trips to museums around the world and time spent with fellow artists. These experiences have exposed me to a rich variety of techniques, subjects, and styles, inspiring me to experiment, take creative risks, and push my personal boundaries. They have forever influenced my artistic style and continue to fuel my creative expression. One of my favorite aspects of art is the opportunity to sit before a piece, contemplating its meaning, and, if possible, connecting with the artist to hear the heart behind the work.

I am an art enthusiast.
